Which HVAC System Provides the Greatest True Payback?
|
|
|
Well, I'm not afraid to put an "air source heat pump
and plenum heater on a dual fuel system" in the ring. With the rise in energy prices as a whole,
if we get
back to the basics and work off the efficiency of an air source heat
pump and plenum heater we can provide the greatest return on investment
for our customers. We
are looking at typical and real paybacks versus a propane 90% furnace in
the two to four year range. Even with all the rebates other
renewable energy systems have available, they can't claim that! Please use this sheet to
show your contractors they have a great good plan to sell electric
heat right now.

Conservation Improvement
Program (CIP) for Solar
|
|
|
Co-operatives and power companies have funds that can be used to give
incentives for reducing kilowatt usage and hours. The program
requires 1.5% of annual revenue to be used in this directive. Some power
companies like MN Power in Duluth have used these funds to match the MN state rebate.
If we review we our solar incentives, we have a 30% federal tax
credit with no cap. We also have a 25% MN state rebate up to $2,500.00. If the power company matches another 25% from the state and we put all
the rebates together how does that stack up? Well depending on how they are applied this looks to
reduce the cost to the end user by about 80%.
Wow that's a lot of rebates and I think we are going to be selling some
solar.
